Heritage 3 Pack from Target

Posted: April 28, 2011 in Blog

While walking around the local Target, I decided to take a detour and go to the card section. As you all know, it can be very hard to leave without purchasing something. Hanging right next to the “Rack Packs” was a 3 pack of 2011 Heritage that included 3 black parallels. I was pretty intrigued so I ended up trying it out.

Here’s what I got:

Pack 1:

27 – Adam Kennedy
88- Joe Girardi
103- Brandon Phillips
139- Babe Hits 60

190- Todd Helton
336- John Lackey
352- Ricky Nolasco
354- Hunter Pence
BF-9 Frank Robinson

Pack 2:

134- Brett Cecil
149- Ryan Franklin
214- Chris Sales
255- Edwin Jackson
265- Derrek Lee

287- Neftali Feliz
311- Derek Jeter

346- Felix Hernandez
430- Troy Tulowitzki

Pack 3

12- Brad Mills
13- Cliff Pennington
70- Justin Morneau
240- Xavier Nady
299- Daniel Descalso
304- Brett Myers
319- Tim Lincecum

342- Zack Greinke
C8- Mark Reynolds Refractor(186/562)

AND NOW FOR THE BLACK PARALLELS!

I had a great time opening and looking at these cards. I am sure you will see a few more packs opened on this blog. I do have two questions:
First how do you tell which cards are the SP?
Second is there a reason that on the back of the cards, some names are in red and others in black?

  1. 426-500 are the short prints (in your case, Tulo is a short print). I think all the “regular” cards have red names. Team cards, manager cards, league leaders cards, and other subset cards seem to have black names on the back.
