Ed Reed HOF?

With the terrible game the Ravens played yesterday, Ed Reed dropped a bombshell stating that he is contemplating retirement. Here is the full article. I fully understand if he decides to retire, due to all the injuries he has suffered. But I hope for the sake of the Ravens they keep him around as a coach/ mentor to all the young players. The way he studies and plays the game has made him one of the best safeties in the NFL. This raises the question, will Ed Reed make the Hall of Fame?

Lets start out by looking at all his accomplishments…

  • 6 Time Pro-Bowl Selections
  • 6 Time All-Pro Selections
  • AP Defensive player of the year
  • Led the NFL in INT twice
  • Led the NFL in INT yardage once
  • Held a NFL record for longest INT TD (108 yards) – The jersey and ball from that game are already at the HOF

I totally believe that Ed Reed is one of the best safeties in the NFL. I hope he will get the votes to be inducted into the HOF, when he decides he is going to retire.
