Wife’s Mail Call (Trade with Cards on Cards)

Due to the circumstances of having our baby boy a week ago, blogging was the last thing on my mind. He is sleeping right now and I figured I could spare a few minutes to write about the cards we received in the mail from Kerry (Cards on Cards). The part about baseball card collecting I love the most is trading cards. I find it more thrilling than opening up a pack of random cards from a store. With trading, we are able to send some of our team or player cards to someone who wants that specific team or player. In return, we get teams or players that we love. Both sides are happy!!!

Not only did Kerry send us Orioles cards but they also sent us some Ravens cards. We got 10 Ravens cards to be exact and some of the highlights are Upper Deck NFL Legends Deion Sanders, NFL Legends Ray Lewis, 2001 Upper Deck Ray Lewis, and atomic 2002 Travis Taylor. Although my husband and I have never heard of Travis Taylor, we love the different design of the card.Upper Deck NFL Legends Deion SandersUpper Deck NFL Legends Ray LewisUpper Deck Ray LewisAtomic 2002 Travis Taylor

We received 21 Orioles cards. The coolest card in my opinion is the 1991 Cracker Jack Cal Ripken, Jr. card. 1991 Cal Ripken Jr. MiniAnother nifty card that we got is a 1986 Triple Action Sportflics card with three players, two of which have their numbers retired with the Orioles (Cal Ripken, Jr. and Eddie Murray). 1986 Sportflics Cal Ripken Jr.The next card to write about is the 2007 Upper Deck Chronicles Cal Ripken, Jr. (CR 1). According to the back of the card, he was named AL Rookie of the Year for 1982. 2007 Upper Deck Cal Ripken Jr. ChroniclesHe is holding a trophy in the 2007 Fleer Ultra Iron Man card, where he earned the All-Star Game MVP honors. 2007 Ultra Iron Man #31The last card to write about today is the Topps 2007 Now Generation Nick Markakis card (GN359). This card commemorates 2006 when Markakis had a 3 hit night against the Boston Red Sox. 2007 Topps Generation Now Nick MarkakisWe are expecting the 2 boxes of Topps Finest at the end of this month and are contemplating doing a video break of our two boxes. Does anyone have any tips on how to record a good break?

Glad you liked the cards! I have no idea who Travis Taylor is, either, but I thought you might find it interesting at least.

  2. mdbirdlover says:

Congrats on the baby boy! Woo-hoo.

I love this. My gosh, you have a whole plate of O’s and Ravens that is amazing!

Travis Taylor was awide receiver and probably one of Baltimore’s worst draft picks ever. I think he was out of Florida.
