Cal Ripken Jr.- One of the Best Shortstops of All Time

Posted: December 23, 2008 in Baltimore Orioles, Baseball, PSA Graded

2007 SPx WM-RCI just recently got this card in the mail. This is currently the highest graded example and the card is number 20/50. Just wanted to share this great card with everyone. Hope you enjoy!

Currently I am working on a few PSA Set Registries. Here is the link for all that are interested Click Here

Current Rank:
Ripken Jr. Basic Set #8
Ripken Jr. Master Set #9

I have a couple goals in collecting these cards. First being that I have always enjoyed collecting everything related to the Baltimore Orioles (and any other Baltimore team). Second is to amass a large collection to one day hand down to my son.

I am having alot of fun collecting and will be sharing images of my collection with everyone. If you would like to share any feedback or advice please leave me a comment.  Additionally I will be posting a list of cards available for trade, please contact me if you are interested in any of them.

On the topic of shortstops, the Orioles closed a two year deal with Cesar Izturis. It looks like we have finally filled the void at the shortstop position. However, according to the Orioles website, Izturis was not brought to Baltimore for his offensive power. He has had only 8 home runs since 2004. But with his sound fielding ability, this decision could be very beneficial for the Orioles.

More soon to come…..

Ripken is a great guy to collect – I’m looking forward to seeing more of your cards! You’re right about Izturis – he’s a great fielder, but an absolutely awful hitter.
